York Pride Fest and LGBTQ+ youth groups within York Region, in collaboration with The City of Orlando and the
onePULSE Foundation, are coming together to commemorate the 49 innocent Pulse victims, to support survivors and to recognize the compassion and love that was displayed globally following the tragedy one year ago on this day.
Take back the night with us, as we build more spaces for queer folk with our friends and supporters. Let’s be different, let’s enjoy ourselves, let kindness be our actions and let love drive change.
Our event will feature live music, open mic, a drag show, fresh hors d'oeuvres
refreshments, coffee corner
treats, plus door prizes.
Come out to support local queer groups in York Region. This is an all-ages event and donations to local youth groups would be welcomed.
We want this night to be about you and your friends. We want to showcase the true meaning of community, support and, of course, LOVE and KINDESS.
We encourage you to dress the way you like, that respects the Pulse commemoration but allows you to be you and gives you a chance to shine!
Orlando United Day
on June 12th is an opportunity to join with others in Acts of Love and Kindness to continue the unity that followed the tragedy. Engaging in these activities on June 12th is a respectful and loving way to remember and honor the lives of those taken and to show compassion to those who need support.
To remember the victims and honor the survivors, across the world a number of community events and activities will be taking place on Monday, June 12th, 2017, including our own 'A Night for Love and Kindness' event.
