York Pride Fest 2009
York Pride Fest
... is a non-profit community initiative hosting social events in York Region, including the region's annual Pride festival in June celebrating Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) residents throughout our community.
Our organization is run exclusively by a team of dedicated volunteers as well as representatives from the following local community organizations:
  • Addiction Services York Region (ASYR)
  • Aids Committee of York Region (ACYR)
  • Family Services York Region (FSYR)
  • GayYorkRegion.com
  • GYRSG.com
  • York Region District School Board
  • York Region LGBT Advisory Committee
  • York Regional Police
York Pride Fest has contributed to our community as a local association since 2007 and plans to incorporate as a federal non-profit organization later this year.
This year, pride week in York Region will be June 7th-14th - two weeks prior to Toronto Pride.
Please select from the menu on the left, to check out the events organized for this, our third consecutive year of York Pride Fest.
Proclamations
Earlier this year, we contacted the government offices of our region and its nine local municipalities to request that they proclaim June 7th-14th as Pride Week. The areas on the map below will change colour as we become aware of proclamations being issued by the local municipalities.
